Why your relationship doesn't need to end because you need to find yourself
You always either get told one or the other. 1) you should be 100% happy with yourself before being in a relationship or 2) be with someone who makes you better.
Now I don’t believe one is right one is wrong. I believe their both rightISH. When I started dating Luke 7 years ago I wasn’t living my very best life. I knew it and i had a big shield up ; worried to let him in to close. He soon tore down that shield and accepted me for who I was and who I wanted to be. I was seeing a therapist (because anything to better yourself I stand behind) and I had this amazing man by my side. The combination of the two brought back my old self. The self who wanted to succeed, and wanted to experience all that life had in store. I honestly don’t think I could have done it completely without having Luke. He was my support system, and my rock. He never told me what to do just always let me figure it out myself. I saw him and saw that I wanted to better myself so we could have a healthier relationship, so we could enjoy life to the fullest as our healthiest selfs. I don’t think without having him there I would have made self love such a priority. So I guess my advice to all is ; if you aren’t 100% happy, but are with a person who is nearly perfect (hahaha) use your partner as a stepping stone to loving yourself. No need to end a great relationship because you have some issues to work through. A good partner will recognize them and want to help you through them. I’m so blessed to have him in my life and the resources to also help me get to where I am today. 🖤
{if you are with someone who is tearing you down this is a different story (get out), but if you are with someone trying to help ; accept the help and use it to heal}
